Chance me for UC to UC transfer

I am currently a math-econ major at UCSD, and I applied to UCB Econ major and UCLA Math-Econ Major. Could someone chance me for these two schools :slight_smile: ?

School: UCSD
Major: Math-Econ
GPA: 3.979
Major-Prereqs: will complete UCLA pre-reqs after spring, and UCB pre-reqs after summer. A+ in most of the major pre-reqs courses.
Completed GE? No
ECs: Summer Internship at a bank

Wow, you have an excellent GPA, I’m pretty sure you’ll get in for UCLA because the average GPA for math/econ is 3.6ish.

The only thing I’m not 100% sure on is UCB, because for College of L&S they want you to complete breadth (whether it’s by IGETC, L&S Breadth, or UC Reciprocity which is your case). You’ve seen/opened up myBerkeleyApp right? One of the forms asks you how you plan to complete breadth for admission. How are you filling that out?

At UCSD, how close are you to finishing GEs? You do still have a spring quarter to fill for classes. But that depends on how badly you’d like to go to UCB. I’m pretty sure UCLA will accept you, just not totally sure for Cal because of breadth requirement.

Here’s a link if you are curious: http://students.berkeley.edu/files/admissions/12626_5.info_transadm.pdf on page 2 under College of Letters and Science. They want you to complete breadth by the end of spring. But like I said, it depends on how badly you want to go to UCB. Don’t feel discouraged or anything because you do have amazing stats.

Thanks for replying:) the link was helpful too! i filled out the breadth form already and it seems that i have taken all the classes required( by L&S Breadth).
I was also wondering about the major pre-reqs. On the academic update, i said that i was going to complete the major pre-req for ucla in spring, but i am not 100% sure if i can get a spot in that class in spring( it’s a highly demanded cse class). Do i need to file an additional update if i eventually cannot get into that class(that would be way past the jan 31 deadline though)? Also, if they accepted me and found that i couldnt get into that class in the spring, will my acceptance be revoked? I am 99% sure i will be able to take that class in summer session though.

Nice! Small world, I’m at UCSD too as a management science major but applying to UCLA and UCB as a Statistics major. Agree completely with @Bearly about your chances haha, based upon those stats. You should have enough time to update the schools about your final spring schedule since they won’t make a decision until late April. Just update on TAU (which is open until end of March) and also email the UCs you applied to. Also, I wouldn’t worry too much about one missing prereq since it’s a non-impacted major. I myself have to finish Math20F this quarter and then Math20E spring quarter. Good Luck! I’m really nervous too about this whole application process :stuck_out_tongue: sigh

@maggiemn‌ @81Mamba‌

Can I ask why you guys want to transfer out of UCSD? I’m applying for management science also :expressionless:

@bizmlover well for me personally, I really wanted to go to UCLA or Cal during freshmen admissions so I’m trying again! I’m sure you’ll like UCSD haha. Good luck! Decisions are so nerve-wracking lol :stuck_out_tongue: about 3 months to go…

@81Mamba‌ haha thank you! Good luck you too!

If I were you I’d treat failing to enroll in a course I told them I planned to take as similar to dropping it. Update your app and let them know you couldn’t get into the class.
