Chance me for college of engineering in UCB and UCLA plzzz
I can chance back if you post your link belowww;)

UCLA is a match. UC Berkeley, owing to its competitive engineering school is a low reach.

UCLA-Match/Low Reach
UC:Berkeley:Low Reach
The only thing that could hurt you is your not-so-fantastic EC’s
Good Luck!

UCLA - match / low reach

Berkeley - low reach / reach

Thanks for the reply!

Ucla high match
Ucb low reach

Chance back

UCLA and Berkeley are extremely tough admissions for engineering. That being said, I would still say you’re competitive for both. I would say that your stats are up to par. However, if your EC are not fantastic, and your essays are “average”…
Get your essays to be fantastic. NOW.
I know that the UC app isn’t due till the 30th, so if you haven’t submitted it yet, really revise those essays and make them fantastic! your stats are there.
video games are not an EC.
Look, judging your stats, you have very strong chances. I’m not guaranteeing it. But I wouldn’t take a risk with “average” essays.

I would say you have a very good chance for UCLA and still a good chance for UCB. Both are very competitive and low admission rate, but your test scores and in-state residency will really help you out. Don’t undersell yourself on EC’s, make them sound as good as possible without lying. Look over your essays again and make sure they really answer the prompts and show who you are.

@earlygrad123 are you sure video game doesn’t count?

@Carbine865 Thanks! You make me feel better! I wanna have great EC’s too I just dont happen to have them since I came from china 3 years ago and didnt really know why ECs are important= =sad…Chance you back already!

for schools such as UCB, how much does ECs matter? I have pretty decent ECs, but nothing spectacular, but SATs and GPA that definitely fall in UCB range. With very good grades and sat but average ECs, do I have a good chance of getting in?

@ab123ab I would say 50% chance? Depending on your PS?

So is UCB primarily essay+gpa+sat?

Yes, in my opinion the ivies and privates consider ECs more than publics.

UCLA is definately a safety for u considering ur in state. Berkeley, I say u have a 80% chances and it might come down to ur essays.
