URM, parents came here from Ethiopia for grad school

private suburban high school with really rigorous courses

I'm guessing my recs were really good. One from my APUSH teacher who's also the faculty advisor for newspaper and one from my Honors PreCalc/Trig teacher and I got an A+ on that final and an A in the class

I really tried on my essays. Answered the joke one for uncommon and made it pretty intellectual (or at least I'd like to think I did)

UChicago is the only school I'm applying to early. I'm from a tiny Philly suburb but I'm well-traveled and I'm ready for the big city :) Thank you so much if you've read this far and double thanks if you reply!!! :)

I’m no admissions officer but I’d be shocked if you didn’t get in. I think you’d also stand a great chance at HYP as well!

Thanks very much! Does anybody else have any other opinions?

UChicago: Low Reach
I can’t guarantee that you’ll get in, but you have great EC’s, test scores, and GPA.

Your GPA isn’t very strong, especially because the people applying UChicago are very very academically strong. Your test scores are good but, you don’t seem to have many unique awards/talents. I’d say UChicago is a reach for you.

Also, you haven’t taken many APs.

Thanks for your feedback! Like I said, only 3 AP’s are available before before senior year at my school and you need to take an exam to get into each one. Also, seniors get preference because they’re offered to both juniors and seniors so that’s why I only had one before twelfth grade. Thanks again.
