UCLA: Match

Ucla is a match for you. Lucky!! :/

Match, since UCLA is such a numbers-oriented school. :)

Are you in-state? If you are, UCLA is a match/low match for you. I would be surprised if you didn’t get in, but I can’t say for sure.

Yes I’m a local.
Thanks!

UCLA accepts 72% of those with a 4.0 GPA. With a high SAT score and decent ECs, you stand a very good chance.

UCLA: low match

UCLA: Match

How important are grades before sophomore year at UCLA?

Not very. I thought I wasn’t going to get into a lot of schools because my freshman year, my grades were not that spectacular. I’m pretty sure I got into UCLA because of ECs because my test scores were horrendous but I had a decent GPA too

@Atypical Not as important as sophomore-junior year, although if you did poorly, a strong upward trend in both grades and course rigor can easily negate poor freshman year grades. Even better if there was a reason for poor grades, like health, family issues, etc.

So how important are grades before freshman year at holistic schools like Stanford and Berkeley.

I went from 3.5 to 4.6 :)

@Atypical I’m not quite sure. I was in the same boat as you but I got into Berkeley.

All right. What do you think about working after school? Would the upper UCs value that? Or is it not worth the stress?
