What are my chances and do you have any schools in mind that is a good fit for me?
im out of state, texas.
and my sat score is a guess i havent taken the sat yet but based on practice tests and psat scores i have consistently scored in that range.
If you still haven’ taken the SAT, I would assume you’ve registered for the November test date? Also practice tests are an iffy when estimating your SAT score. ±50 in most cases. So you can expect a 1450-1550
You have a good chance.
Just try to do better on SAT and maybe EC’s related to premed.
However, you live in a great state for premed. People would kill for texas med school.
Why would you want to go to UC’s for premed?
You are OOS, so its expensive. You maybe rich, but you want to save money
UC’s are crazy hard for premed. Lot of people are premed, and heavy competition exists. You might want to lower this at one your own state schools.
If you want to truly be premed, go to a nice state school. Especially for premed, UTD is pretty good.
UC’s are great, but for premed OOS, not so much.
Agree that it is preferable to stay in Texas for pre-med. Texas medical schools have low in-state tuition relative to other medical schools, so staying in Texas will make it a lot easier to get to medical school interviews with Texas medical schools. Plus, the lower in-state tuition for undergraduate in Texas will let you save more money for medical school.
