Looking at USC, UCLA, and UCSD in neuroscience or neuropsychology with minor in Comp Sci or Business. Plan to go to med-school

For USC, I will only attend if I get full/half-tuition. Please advise if you think I will get one or the other.

…and you’re OOS

…and you’ll only go to USC if you get half tuition.

You’ve got a more serious issue. Going to a Calif undergrad as a premed is a horrible idea. Too many premeds there, and far too few med school seats.

WHY would you want to go to a Calif school for premed? You might as well tie a ball and chain to your leg and kiss your med school chances good-bye. And especially crazy to pay $55k per year for a UC as an OOS premed unless your family is so wealthy that they’ll never miss the money.

I don’t understand the USC tuition thing. Are you saying that your family WILL PAY $55k per year for UCLA or UCSD?

Tbh, i dont know, but hopefully I can scramble for some scholarships here and there. I was also considering USC. What do u think are my chances? Also, how hard is it to get the full-tuition or half-tuition with my stats?

Oh poop!

No, you’re not going to get scholarship money from the UCs. They’re horrible with merit. ASK your parents how much they’ll pay each year.

“Scramble for scholarships”…that is a recipe for disaster. Outside awards are usually small and only for frosh year…how would you pay the BALANCE and all the costs for the other 3 years???

What is your home state?

Please let us help you come up with a sensible list. Your current list is a disaster.

YOu would get NOTHING from USC or the UCs. A 1400 is about an ACT 30-31…too low. To have a chance at merit at USC, since you’re not NMF, you’d need to be in the 1500’s.

Yes, you need to retake to improve your merit scholarship opps at other schools.

How much will your parents pay???

If you got 1/2 tuition at USC…HOW would you pay the other $45k per year???
