All of these are great for UCLA, but will look AWESOME for other schools. For instance,
‘Girl’s Varsity Surf Team captain, scholar athlete, varsity letter, “MVP Longboarder”’ would definitely appeal to OOS schools in a major way. Something to consider.

You should look up whether you can be considered “Hispanic” or (especially) “Native American” before putting down white (unfortunately ethnicity really does factor in.) With your stats/ECs + ethnic background you’d be a competitive candidate for private OOS schools (i.e. Ivy Leagues, top liberal arts colleges) and also the top UCs.

For your essay, you should definitely incorporate and weave in your surfing experiences and surfing team success since it is so unique and appears to be a big part of your life.

Written well, your essay will stand out of the crowd and be memorable to the persons who are going to read and score your UC application. That’s a huge plus for you when there are thousands of applicants!

You have a good chance. However, you may be rejected simply due to competition. EVERYBODY wants to go there, and theres only so many spots available.

Surf team, MVP longboarder, and Native American, those already stand out pretty well, I’d say you have a good chance your academies sturdy as well, good luck on admissions!
