<p>I am a high school junior right now my UC gpa unweighted is 3.55 and weighted is 3.6. I plan on majoring in mechanical engineering. I got a 1850 SAT score but i plan on retaking it. I was in wrestling for one and a half years. I quit halfway into the season because my relative was going through chemo and it was a hard time for me. I was in key club and fit club for one year. I have 100 hours worth of community service. I've taken 2 weighted classes(APUSH and honors chem) the rest were normal classes.</p>

<p>This year it would be sufficient. Each year changes as the schools get squeezed more and they become more competitive.</p>
<p>I’d say you have a pretty good chance to get into UCR. Mechanical Engineering is reeeaaally hard though.</p>
