CHANCE ME FOR UCs! GOAL IS UCLA!

<p>Hey guys, so here are my stats. Btw, I am Asian and a California resident. Please evaluate my chances for the UC schools:
GPA (weighted) - 4.256
GPA (unweighted) - 3.93
Rank - 25 out of 600 (I ALMOST qualified for ELC. They kicked me out later though? I have noo idea why because my rank is still in top 4%)</p>

<p>Classes taken/Grades (<em>We have a semester system, so even though I only include one letter grade, it's for 2 semesters. And if you're wondering why I can take Spanish 3-4 and Spanish 5-6 in one year...it's because we have a 4x4 system.</em>) : </p>

<p>9th grade - Honors English 1-2 (A), Spanish 1-2 (A), Spanish 3-4 (A), Physics 1-2 (A), Journalism 1 (A), Critical Study of the Mass Media (A), Algebra 3-4 (A) </p>

<p>10th grade - AP European History 1-2 (A), Honors World History 1-2 (A), Journalism 2 (A), Honors Humanities 1-2 (B for both semesters), AP Calculus AB (A), Honors Pre-calculus (B one semester, A the other semester), AP Environmental Science (A) </p>

<p>11th grade- US History 1-2 (A), Honors Biology 1-2 (A), AP Biology 1-2 (A), AP Calculus BC (A), Honors American Literature 1-2 (A), AP English Language 1-2 (A) </p>

<p>12th grade - Civic/Economics 1-2 (A for one semester so far, the other is still pending), AP Government (N/A), Honors Chemistry 1-2 (A for one semester so far, the other is still pending), AP Chemistry 1-2 (N/A), AP Physics B (N/A), Drawing/Painting 1-2 (A for one semester so far, the other is still pending), World Literature 1-2 (N/A)</p>

Writing - 740/11 on essay

<p>PSAT - 223 (National Merit Semi-finalist...with finalist standing still pending)</p>

Math Lvl 2 - 700 (I retook it in November - scores haven't come out yet, but I'm pretty confident I did better than a 700 though)
Bio M - 760
Chinese w/ Listening - Scores still pending from the November test</p>

<p>AP Scores -
10th grade: APEH - 4, AP Calc AB - 3, APES - 4
11th grade: AP Calc BC - 5 (with Calc AB subscore 5), AP Bio - 5, AP Eng. Lang - 4
*note the improvement? :) </p>

<p>Extracurriculars/Volunteering:
San Diego Youth Symphony (9th to 12th grade) - Assistant principal of the cello section in 11th and 12th grade, selected participant for the chamber orchestra from 9th to 12th grade (only 4 are chosen from around 30 cellists)
Chinese School (K-12)
Science Olympiad (9th to 12th grade) - Coach for the ecology event in 11th and 12th grade. I have/will compete in Ecology from 10th to 12th grade, Write It Do It in 9th grade, 11th grade and 12th grade, and Food Science in 9th grade
Tzu Shao (11th to 12th grade) (it's basically a buddhist philanthropic/community service organization) - Vice president and editor in 12th grade. Around 50 hours of community service.
Asian Culture Club (11th to 12th grade) - Publicity adviser in 11th grade, Secretary in 12th grade
CSF (California Scholarship Federation) (9th to 12th grade)
School Newspaper (10th grade) - Page editor
Volunteer San Diego (summer of 12th grade) - around 50 hours of community service through tutoring kids at the library, volunteering at the food bank, volunteering for walks, etc.
Key Club (9th grade) - around 30 hours of community service</p>

<p>Work Experience - Cashier at Panda Express from July 2009-Now</p>

<p>Honors/awards: Bronze Medal Award for Key Club (9th grade), Honor Roll (9th-12th grade), Award for 4th place in ecology in the regional Science Olympiad (11th grade), F.A.C.E. (Fraternity of Academic Civic Excellence...basically the top 30 kids in my school get to write a biography of themselves and have that and their photo placed in San Diego malls and newspapers and the school office), AP Scholar (10th and 11th grade)</p>

<p>The UC’s tend to accept California residents, so that would be a heads up for you.
As far as I know, by what my school releases, the average GPA is a 3.66 and average SAT is roughlt 2150 for UCLA. So I think you’d be fine to get into there. And if you can get into UCLA, the other UC’s should be just as easy. :]</p>
