Alright so I am very nervous because I am thinking about what colleges to apply to.

I am a California Resident and I want to know my chances for UCs specifically, UC Irvine, UCB, UCLA, UCD, and Cal Poly SLO. I also applied to UOP but I'm pretty sure I won't be selected.

Class rank: 29/680
UC GPA: 4.2
College W GPA: 4.57
College UW GPA: 3.9

SAT Taken 3 Times, but highest score is 1690 CR/Math=540/630
ACT: 24, I will be taking one more but I am a really bad test taker for some reason so it will not be a big improvement
10 AP classes from Sophmore-Senior, pretty much all As, few Bs
Pretty decent personal statement
ECs:
Pretty weak but
250 Community service hours
STEM Computer 4 years
Key Club 2 years
Track and field 1 year

My major is biochemistry but people told me to go in as biology then switch because its easier

The UCs and CPSLO care more about GPA than about test scores. You probably will not be accepted by UCB/UCLA, but you have a decent chance for UCD, UCI, and CPSLO.

UCB/UCLA - reach
UCD/UCI/CPSLO - high match / low reach

Consider UCM and UCR for safeties.

Cal Poly SLO: Low Reach
Since there are no essays and EC’s count for very little, SLO is a numbers game.
See Freshman Profile: GPA is competitive, SAT is not.

UCD/UCI: High Match/Low Reach (essays and EC’s could help)
UCB/UCLA: Reach

Consider UCSC and UCR. UCR has an excellent Biochem department with many research opportunities.

I think you’ll get into UCI, UCD, and Cal Poly. UCB and UCLA are reaches for you because ECs, and reaches for both of us because of our 1690 sat score haha. BTW- I got 630 for reading, 540 for math, and 520 for writing…what about you?

@greygirdle 630 math, 540 reading, 520 writing. Thanks for chancing me, best of luck to you

@sxyaznryanchster That is so weird! May the odds be ever in our favor!
