Chance me for UCs? (mainly UCSD)

Hey guys, I was looking for help figuring my chances into the UCs.

I am an Asian Indian (if that matters for anything) and am in the 12th grade.

My GPA is 3.94 UW and 4.1 W

I have taken three years of Spanish. The AP classes I've taken include: English Lang and Comp, Biology, and Chem. I have taken multiple Honors courses as well (including all of my english and social science classes). This year, I am taking AP Stats, AP Calc, AP Physics, AP Government, and AP Literature.

AP tests: 4 on Bio and 4 on Chem

Sat I: 1840...680 math, 580 both english sections (I am taking the ACT this month and taking the SAT again in October to improve my english scores.

Sat II: 720 Chem, 690 Math II, 680 Bio

ECs and awards: tennis 4 yrs, science olympiad 3 yrs, CSF 3 yrs, Chess Club 2 yrs, various academic awards from school acknowledging academic excellence, volunteer at local Boys and Girls Club

I was wondering what my chances are and, if i achieve above a 2000 on the SAT or 30+ on the ACT, what my chances are at Pomona and Claremont McKenna. Thanks for the help!

UCSD- match. A high GPA with low SAT scores is much better than vice versa.

Pomona and CMC are both reaches or low reaches at the best even if you get 2000+ on your SAT because they have become very selective recently.

Thanks! But what about the other UCs and maybe Boston University?

If you can get your SAT’s up to 2000 you are a match for UCSD, UCSB, UCD, and Boston, a reach for Cal and UCLA.

Thanks for the help!

agreed with Bubbles-- Good luck!

Chance me back? (my thread should be floating around up there :D)

UCSD: match b/c your GPA is great, and GPA is by far the most important thing in UC admission decisions

I agree that you’re a match for UCSD even if your sat scores are low. Pomona and Claremont Mckenna have become reaches for the majority of people even if they have 2000+ sat scores and high gpas, but there’s no harm in applying and just seeing what happens. You never know.
