Final Notes:
I may be shooting too high in terms of my private choices, but oh well. I'm hoping to write good application essays, but haven't started to read the prompts for the dozen essays I'll have to write. I will be chancing back once I wake up from my nap. Thanks! Oh, and try to be honest and realistic with me. I'll be applying for all these colleges under the regular admissions deadline.

Were honors and AP classes available to you the first 2 years? Do you have a rank?

Well, at my school, the only honors class is Chemistry Honors, which I took in 10th grade. There are also two accelerated classes available, English 1A and English 2A. You can’t really get into any APs until 10th grade, where AP World History becomes available. But I didn’t take that course, and many kids at my school start taking APs in their junior year. You could start taking AP Calculus AB in 10th grade if you take math enrichment in the summer, but due to budget cuts, only seniors are allowed to take AP Calculus BC, which is the highest leveled math offered at the school.

I don’t have any solid information on a class rank yet either.

Reasonable shot at the top UCs and into the others. USC is a slight reach. The other three unlikely.

I’d say you’ll get into all of the UCs (except for perhaps Berkeley, which should be a match) and USC. MIT, CalTech, and Stanford are probably not in the cards.

You have very good shots at the UCs. I think you will get into all of them with Berkeley and LA being matches. For Stanford, MIT, and Caltech however, your chances are slim but if you really want to go try your best and write good essays. You never know, sometimes people get lucky.
