i think you have a really good chance of getting into UGA. your SAT scores are right in the middle of the range and your GPA is good. Good Luck!

Here is some admissions data for UGA from 2008:

Percent of Applicants Admitted: 55%

SAT Math: 560 / 660 You: 620
SAT Writing: 560 / 650 You: 610

So, as you can see, you are well within the ranges and above the 75th percentile for CR.

Here is some admissions data for Georgia Tech from 2007:

Percent of Applicants Admitted: 63%
Test Scores – 25th / 75th Percentile
SAT Critical Reading: 590 / 690 You: 670
SAT Math: 650 / 730 You: 620
SAT Writing: 580 / 670 You:610

Your math score may put you at a disadvantage, but your other scores are within range. Combined with your solid GPA, I would say Tech is a high match.

I think you have a pretty solid case. Your GPA falls in the middle 50 and assuming you took challenging classes, you’re fine. Your SAT scores as well above average except for math which is on the lower end but you have more going for you than against you. Good luck :)

UGA has raised its standards considerably, the avg. freshman GPA for the class of 2013 is a 3.88 with 5 AP courses. Your SAT is good, and GPA isn’t perfect, but I think you’d have a fair shot. If you get deferred, your ECs will look great, and just try to write good essays (there are four). Good luck, trying to get into UGA myself :D
