Ok so i'm a junior at a competitive public high school in Maryland. I'm looking at applying to

yeah i know not too many Extracurricular activities but trying to do some more community service or get an internship/job for the summer.

Rec's: Should be very good, do you know if it will hurt to have 2 from same subject area. (WH,USH teacher and GOV teacher?

Additional info: AT UMCP i should be able to get a Rec from someone pretty well connected with University former board of regent member etc.

For the UPenn interview i would know the interviewer somewhat well

Thanks for the Insight and Chances

Well Mr. White and Wealthy, seems like you’re not too shabby. Your alleged connections won’t hurt you either. GPA is ‘on track’ and SAT’s the same. Yeah the EC’s could be a better (found/prez of club), and that internship too. Perhaps a slight rise in GPA/SAT should do good, ACT should be 33-34+ might I add.

You would be a young Republican, dirtbag. lol jk.

Yeah i wasn’t trying to be pretentious with the White and Wealthy thing just wanted to convey that i wasn’t a URM and didn’t need financial aid. Yeah i need to get one more extracurricular possibly, but do you really think with the SAT as it is now that i have a decent >20% shot at UPenn,Columbia,Chicago?

Yeah I know bro, it was a joke. Too much Democrat propoganda for me I guess =D

Get that summer program, but yeah, SAT’s should be a little higher to give you an ‘extra’ bump. I mean it’s not bad at all, especially if you look at their average SAT scores. But considering the EC’s may lack a little, better safe than sorry. After like 2200-2250 you should be fine though.

Then again if you know the interviewer well you could use that to ur advantage or something… But I’d say your about par for the average student applying, once you get a leadership or two.

They’re on track, but could be higher in your case
