8)I fell in love with the University of Michigan. I feel as if I’m just bringing my hopes up if I apply.
In addition, would it help to email admissions officers to show them my interest ?
Also, if I were to apply, which department would I have the highest chance of getting into? thank u sm ik this is very early bc I’m only a junior
I checked naviance and a few people with below a 3.6 and around there have been accepted and there are people who have had exceptional GPA’s but we’re denied… 79 have been accepted and 20 have enrolled. this is the GPA on my unofficial transcript w all my grades from 9,10, and half semester of junior year
First, recalculate your uwGPA in UMich’s way and see what it is. If you habe mostly A- plus a couple B-, the recalculated GPA may be near 3.9. The same may happen to the former students from your HS. That is going to make a big difference. Those got denied with higher GPA may have lower course rigor, lower score, or poor applications.
I have majority A’s and only 3 B+’s throughout my transcript. The only B+’s I have was bc I took high school courses in 8th grade and unfortunately got a B in Algebra 1 and a B+ in Spanish Checkpoint A… and a B+ in chem (ya ik lol) sophomore year. Other than that, they are all A’s.
It is on the transcript does not mean they would include it in the recalculation. There are some small schools with combined middle and high schools with transcripts showing classes from all grades too.
