Looks really good so far! I think you have a pretty good chance at getting in. Good luck.

@Bishoptoaster
Interesting.
The truth is that I was accepted a few days ago, but posted this out of interest in what others would have predicted.

How were you accepted a few days ago?

@Nic2000 Are you a Questbridge Finalist and have been matched to Notre Dame? Still not sure on your motivation for your original posting posting - it somehow seems deceptive and unfair to the folks you ask to chance you, after actually already having been accepted. Just my 2 cents worth…

@Jrsygrl23
@hpcsa
Yes, I matched through Questbridge.
I see no harm in it. I was hoping for more predictions in order to have a larger data set, because I’m curious in general about the correlation between popular opinion based on the limited information I provided and the outcome of getting in. If a lot of people said they thought I had a good chance, then that’d show that what information I provided was sufficient to predict chances, and vice-versa.

@Nic2000 Congratulations to your admission through Questbridge. Obviously you would not have been matched to Notre Dame if you were not a competitive QB Finalist for the university.

I agree with @hpcsa. My prediction would have been slim chance of admission, and many others would have predicted the same. @Nic2000 's experiment is not a sound one based on the fact that admission was through QB. My sense was that he appeared on this thread to gloat. Perhaps not, but that is what my gut tells me.

Nonetheless, I wish @Nic2000 the best. I hope you are grateful for this opportunity you have been given.

@Nic2000 Well, Big ups to you on your match with ND thru Questbridge. One thing you might have considered more carefully is the timing of your chance me inquiry. Those of us who are not QB scholars are pretty anxious to hear decisions (hopefully next week), so it kind of felt questionable that you asked a chance me and then shortly thereafter turned around and mentioned you’d been admitted.

Again, congrats on your acceptance, but I still feel you could have considered the feelings of the rest of us who are still waiting. No hard feelings, just my take.

Apologies if I seemed to be gloating or wanting to put others down. Not my intention at all. I started crying when I saw my acceptance, so I most certainly am grateful.
I am well aware that I provided limited information, making accurate preditctions impossible. But that was the very point of the question I was trying to answer: how accurate could predictions be when given so little data? Again, I know QB throws a wrench into the whole thing, but the point was to see how accurate people could be when they could only know so little about an applicant.

Again, Welcome to Notre Dame @Nic2000! You will find the University of Notre Dame and this forum to be very welcoming places. Please do not hesitate to directly ask any questions you may have and keep us posted on your experience, going forward.
