Before I continue, I want to say that I’m trying for DA to computer science with statistics as a second choice, but I know I’m not getting in to CS at this moment. I’m asking this question in particular to see what you guys think my chances are for getting into the school in general, not a specific major.
Here are my academics:
3.39 GPA (taking 3 APs senior year, 4 science classes over 4 years, 6 math classes over 4 years. I transferred to a new HS for sophomore year and struggled at first, but my GPA has improved every consecutive semester and I have straight A’s right now)
1380 SAT
I won web design student of the year sophomore year.
My high school is nationally recognized and among the top 10 public high schools in the state of Washington
Extracurriculars (as appears on application):
4-H: I have held multiple leadership positions in my 5 years here such as Treasurer, Secretary, and Vice President. I have learned many useful skills in the club including communications, teamwork, auditing, & public presentations. I have won many awards at our county fair for my public presentations, cooking, and photography, and a best at state fair award for photography.
Volunteer Work: Every year in late June, people come and donate various items that are sold off in early July in a fundraiser that goes to grants, scholarships, and humanitarian projects. Before July, people volunteer to help organize it and make sure it goes well. Average hours per week is 70-80.
My personal statement is something that I am not going to post here for hopefully obvious reasons, but the subject is how I was diagnosed with Asperger’s, Tic disorder, and ADHD and was told I wouldn’t be able to succeed in public school by a doctor of children’s psychology, but have overcome those issues via a diverse learning experience and hard work and I am now a successful student.
Thanks!
