Chance me for UPenn/BC/Tufts/BU! Please!

I am a white, middle-class female from suburban Pennsylvania (an hour outside Philly). I know this is the worst possible demographic...but still.

GPA:
UW: 3.99, W: 4.75

Rank: 2 out of 285 (Top 1%)

SAT I:
Math: 720
CR: 680 (low, I know)
Writing: 800
Composite: 2200

SAT II:
Math I: 700
Literature: 700
Biology - E: 690

AP scores:
AP Psych. - 5
AP Bio - 5
AP U.S. Gov't - 4
(I'm taking AP Chem, AP Euro History, and AP English Lit. this year)

Our school has block scheduling and only allows AP during junior and senior year, so though I only have 6, I've definitely taken advantage of everything possible. Also, I'm currently taking a language class at a prestigious college near my school in place of another high school class.

EC:
NHS - Secretary
International Thespian Society - President
Model United Nations - Treasurer
Tri-M Music Honor Society - Vice President
Debate Club/Mock Trial - Founder
Fall Play
Spring Musical
School Newspaper
Heroes Program
Middle School Musical - Student Director

Awards:
National Merit Finalist (most likely)
AP Scholar
Rotary Student of the Month
Regional Poetry Contest Winner
National Honor Society

My essays are fantastic, and my recommendations are glowing. I have an interview with Penn next week, I applied there ED.

Chance for:
Penn - ED
Boston College
Tufts
Boston University

Thank you!

bump please!

I will chance back. Promise.

2 out of around 300 is fairly impressive. BC/Tufts/BU should be automatic acceptances.

Which school of Penn did you apply to? If Wharton then still a pretty high reach, if not Wharton then only a slight reach. I personally know someone who ED’s to Penn with slightly higher standaraized tests but lower GPA/rank who got in ED at Penn. I had higher for both GPA and Rank than that person, applied RD and was rejected. So ED has a ton of weight at penn (a long as your not EDing wharton, thats like as hard as scea yale), but I’m not sure how badly your demographic will hurt you. (Think about it this way of all the good highschools in suburb of Pennsylvania at most there will only be like 100 saludatarians/valedvictorians who apply. Of those how many do you think will actually apply ED?)

What strikes me the most is the fact that you founded debate/mock trial club (hopefully it was a legitimate club unlike some other newfound clubs i’ve witnessed). That shows alot of initiative and passion. Hope you wrote an essay or part of one about something like that.

If you want to improve, I’d suggest working on SAT1 math and CR score. If you got an 800 on writing there should be no reason for not breaking 700 on CR. Another advice: don’t take SATII lit again, that thing is hard I took it twice and got 700 both times.

Well, you are above 50th percentile of accepted students (50th is 2150 SAT); you are in the top few percent of your class; your ECs are above average; if your essays are great it is my opinion that your chances are >50% to get in ED. I really think you have a great chance!

Thanks so much!

Fortune3, I’m applying to CAS for Psychology, definitely not Wharton.

You should definitely be in at BC/BU/Tufts. I don’t know enough about UPenn (except that it is incredibly tough), however, your statistics are wonderful. Congratulations on your achievements to date and good luck!
