<p>female, extremely competitive and elite private school in northern new jersey
I know this is extremely sloppy and I'm leaving out a lot, but I just wanted to get a basic idea of what everyone thinks my chances are.</p>

<p>I'm applying ED to the college of arts and science</p>

<p>Ethnicity: Brazilian. My essay is about Brazil...but not in the cliche, unoriginal way.
Recs - fantastic</p>

<p>GPA: 3.83 (UW, no W gpas at my school)
Course rigor: most difficult my school offers
ACT: 30......</p>

<p>In school ec's
- Founder/chief editor of the foreign language magazine
- Opinions editor of the school newspaper
- Vice president of the community service initiative book mobil, that collects and distributes books to underprivileged schools in the area
- Treasurer of Breast Cancer Awareness
- Varsity soccer for 4 years </p>

<p>Won a few scholar awards at my school blah blah blah </p>

<p>Out of school extra-curriculars
- Founded a tutoring company that donates 20% of its profits each month to a different charity. Now has four branches: one in Montclair, one in Ridgewood, one in Englewood, and one in DC. Has grown much in the past 2 years, with a website, advertisements, appearances at local events to gain support, etc
- Advised an independent study in Portuguese for a peer for 2 years
- Junior PR assistant for a cancer organization called Angels of Hope
- Event coordinator for the Brazilian NGO, Brazil Foundation
- Volunteer at my town's library
- Club soccer</p>

<p>Work experience
- Internship summer of 2009 for Brazilian news channel TV Futura
- Internship summer of 2010 for Brazilian talk show Manhattan Connection
- Internship late summer of 2010 - october of this year for NBC host Pedro Andrade
- Worked over the summer, and currently, work for a boutique in my town
- Previously did stenographic work for a Brazilian journalist on his second novel, as well as compiled articles from Folha's database for his novel </p>

<p>I think you would do well to take maybe an SAT subject test. Either way though, I think you’ll get in.</p>

<p>Stats show not many hispanics/ latino ppl go to college, so your ethic background will help a lot. Also your grades are fantastic, you’ve done great things for the community, highly involved in extra curriculars and good test scores.
I think you have a great chance :)</p>
