Hey everyone. I’m a rising senior this upcoming year and will be applying to UPenn M&T Program, UT Compsci Honors, CMU, Stanford, and MIT. I am majoring in compsci and business. Thanks in advance!

GPA: 4/4.0 UW rank 1
Ap’s: 5 human geo, 5 world hist, 5 compsci, 4 spanish (took 5 more ap tests this year probs all 5’s)
Classes: As hard as it gets

SAT: 2340 superscore (#1 800 M, 800 WR, 690 CR, #2 800 M, 740 WR, 740 CR)
ACT: 33 (one time)

Major Awards (USAMO, Intel etc.): Published compsci research in IPCV '15 and GHTC, Boys Nation Senator (how good is this?), FBLA Network Design National Qualifier 2nd at State, FBLA State Business Math Finalist, Science Olympiad State Finalist - Ranked very high out of 300+ teams statewide (many SO awards at district, regional, and state), 4th Place Computer Science Team regionals, Number Sense UIL Regional Finalist x3, Lots of NS and CompSci UIL Invitational Awards, Presidential Service Award Gold x2, Several Piano Regional Championships, Volunteer of the Year at my Chinese School, Hugh O’Brain Leadership Award Winner

You have shot on those schools. Your stats are really good. Those schools are difficult to get in. Everything will depend on how well you work on the Essay and your Letter of recommendations. Best of luck!

Then, your chances are a lot better. Try to work on your essay and you will be a competitive student.

MIT Stanford: Extremely low chances

He has very low chances at MIT and Stanford. I say less than 3-4% chances.

Really good stats, but you have an extremely large pool of competition in your racial category. MIT And Stanford are reaches for everyone. You have a good shot at penn, it also depends on your essay and interview. Good luck

Based on the ED results in another thread, you have very comparable stats and ECs and would likely get in since the UPenn ED acceptance rate is much higher than the acceptance rate for regular admission. CMU would be a match for you, and Stanford/MIT are reaches for everyone. I have very similar stats to yours, please chance me back.

These guys have no idea what they’re talking about with Penn. M&T accepts almost nobody. It’s a higher reach than Stanford or MIT.

What’s your backup school for M&T? CompSci or Business?

I think you might have a chance at the Penn compsci backup, but quite frankly, for Stanford or MIT or M&T or even Wharton, you don’t do anything so unique that it sets you apart from the rest of the applicant pool. All of those are huge, HUGE reaches. Still apply, though, you never know what’ll happen.

@yesyesyes1 thanks man. I was hoping my depth in compsci and business showed in my ec’s but there’s always others with it too.

I think you will be able to get into Penn ED no problem, but their MT program is extremely selective. Not sure if others are taking that into account.
