  • I volunteered at other organizations including retirement homes, food pantries, etc.
(I know that I did not really stick to any certain organization, but as a part of the community service team at my school, we were supposed to try out various community service opportunities, so we could then tell other students our experiences with them and help them find the community service organization that is right for them)

Interning:

  • interned at a doctor’s office (30 hours)

Schools I am applying to: UCLA, USC, UC Berkeley, UC Santa Barbara, Pepperdine, Occidental, Harvey Mudd

So, what do you think? My dream school is UCLA, so if you don’t want to chance me on all my schools, please just chance me on this one. Harvey Mudd is my reach school, but I doubt that I will be accepted with my scores. USC is second in line for me if I don’t get into UCLA, but I can’t go to USC unless I get some sort of scholarship (they won’t give me any financial aid). Do you think I have a chance of getting a scholarship at USC?

THANK YOU!!

Did you calculate your UC GPA using just 10th and 11th grade with a maximum of 8 semesters of weighted coursework? Include summer before 10th grade and summer after 11th grade but don’t include 9th or 12th grade. https://rogerhub.com/gpa-calculator-uc/

But I thought UCLA and UCB do not cap your GPA (as in they look at your fully weighted GPA). And yeah that is how I calculated my UC GPA (10th and 11th grade), but I did not cap my GPA. Do you know if I am correct in saying that UCLA and UCB look at your fully weighted GPA?

Can anyone answer pretty please?

UCLA/UCB will look at Unweighted, Capped UC weighted and Uncapped UC weighted.
If your check the UC website for published Freshman profiles, the Capped UC weighted GPA will be listed.

Thanks Gumbymom! I would also really appreciate it if anyone could chance me for my schools.

You are a competitive applicant for all the schools on your list. I am sure you will have several acceptances including UCLA in the spring.
For USC and scholarships, I believe you will get at least 1/2 tuition but since they like high SAT/ACT test scores for the more competitive scholarships, it might a slight stretch but definitely worth pursuing.

Make sure you have at least 1 safety school on your list.

Good Luck.

Anyone else?
