<p>So I'm in TX but I'm not in the top 10% of my school. I'm about top 27%. I have a 3.91 gpa, with a 1900 SAT score.
I have a few ECs mostly concentrated in art; art club, art NHS, art club president, volunteered at museums, was a museum docent (guide) in a museum and a local gallery. i'm in regular NHS too and i've volunteered at this susan g. komen teen group over the past few years. i'll have a pretty good essay because i think i'm a pretty good writer. i know this doesnt matter but both my parents went to UT of A.</p>

<p>i'm really confused because some people say it's not too difficult to get in even with the 10% (or 7%?) automatic acceptance because a lot of people in the top 10/7% of schools go to like ivy leagues and stuff? i don't know.</p>

<p>others have told me that it's nearly impossible to get into UT without being in the top 10/7%. so i don't know. chance me?</p>

<p>oh, also, i’ve taken AP and honors classes but my AP scores are</p>

<p>this year im taking AP econ (i dont think i’ll take the AP exam for it because i’ve done pretty bad lol) AP govn, AP drawing, AP english literature, and AP statistics </p>

<p>Yea raise your sat score a bit higher then you have a pretty good shot</p>

<p>Your best bet is CAP. </p>

<p>Your current stats aren’t high enough to get attention in the holistic admissions round. Your record shows you are smart and a good learner, so a year at a UT branch where you make good grades should allow you to transfer to UT as a soph. </p>
