Chance me for uva and vt engineering

So I was wondering if I had any chance of being accepted, but I doubt that I do.

Sat: (hypothetical but what I'm ptesting at): 800m 770cr 710w (already taken and got 770m 750cr 620w)

Ap scores: 5 so far on ap world
Gpa( here comes the pain): uw 3.42~ w 3.7~ after junior year, junior year I'm expecting 4.3~w. 3.8uw but fresh/soph is a 3.4/3.2 so upward trend but probably not enough

Haven't taken sat 2's yet but I'm sure I'd do fine on the math 2 and us history/physics

Course work: 8aps, 1 soph year out of 2 available, 3 junior year (apush ab calc psych), 4 senior year (bc calc apes ap physics ap gov) average at my school is around 3 for all four years

Ecs: soccer, and the usual clubs nothing amazing

Volunteer around 100~hrs so far more during the summer

Job: all 4 (will be) years lifeguard during summers referee during spring/fall

Instate, legacy, second best hs in nova. (Second to tj) pretty difficult, income 30k~

Essays: could talk about how an event summer after sophomore year changed my view of the world, got my act in shape

Not to many leadership positions other than head referee(dealing with angry parents) lifeguard (working with little kids etc) boyscouts

Looking to apply regular so I can send in first semester grades of senior year to show my improvement from first two years.

Please honest opinions.

In state? I think you have a very good shot at UVa, your GPA is towards the low end, but in state I think with your test scores and ECs you should be fine. I don’t know much about VT engineering, but if it is close to the school average I think you should be fine also.

Oh sorry, instate, legacy at both too if that changes anything. Vt average weighted gpa is around 3.9-4.1 for engineering, sat for vt is 1350 math+cr and they don’t look at writing

Bump

UVA: high match/ low reach. If you get a 2280 SAT, and since you’re instate, it might be enough to get you in. Also, even though your GPA is low, the upward trend is nice.

VT: If engineering is the most sought after major at VT, just don’t apply as an engineering major. If you apply as an undecided major, I think it is a match.

Chance back

UVA: low reach
VT: mid reach

Bump

Both high matches. Partly just because you plan on majoring in engineering so just keep an upward GPA trend going, and do well on the SAT2s! Good luck, and thank you for chancing me!

Bump
