I also forgot to mention that throughout my high school career, my mom was diagnosed with hepatitis B and she’s been in a harsh stage while my dad is going through testing for skin cancer, therefore it’s been hard on my family. I’m going to write about this in my essay.

You have a great shot if you can receive great test scores. Are you planning on taking the ACT? What is your intended major?

I already took the ACT and I prefer the SAT. My intended major is probably chemical engineering. @southernbelle16

Since you’re taking the SAT II in Bio, it wouldn’t hurt you to take the SAT II’s in math 2 and chemistry as well. It will just show off your passions and strong subjects.

I’m not sure that various honors societies will make much a difference. I suggest you ask your guidance counselor about this, but from what I’ve heard many universities disregard them.

Your coursework and extracurriculars make you a strong candidate. The fact that you accomplished this in spite of all that was going on with your parents is a huge point in your favor. UVA is competitive, but you have a good chance. Score a 2100 on the SAT and I’d put your chances at 70%.

Chance back?
