The real question is why criticize a subjective perspective? There’s no way to be objective in admissions to selective schools, and the whole point of a chance thread is to get opinions about where you lie on a subjective spectrum.

If you really want to improve your chances, I can’t help you. What I can say is if you don’t get in the school you’re working for you will have wasted time you could’ve otherwise spent doing something you love (unless you like undergoing rigorous resume-boosting activities).

Will subjectively being a reach scares me…I understand for schools like HYPSMC brown Duke and so on, the rates are super selective but there has to be SOMETHING for me to improve on

OK… To clear things up, there is ALWAYS something you can do to improve chances at schools. The only way this isn’t possible is if you fail a class or get several bad grades throughout which would simply SCREW YOU. The only way for you to increase ur chances is to increase your GPA and/or your ACT scores. Your ECs are fine and the essays you need to work super hard on… I think I agree with previous posts that you are on the lower scale of applicants to Harvard, Duke, Vanderbilt, Rice, and UNC-CH OOS. But then again increasing that GPA and ACT will only help you. I give reaches to the above 5 colleges, everything else you have atleast decent chance of admission.

Quick question for people that chanced, should i even waste an ED for Duke, I mean what if i use it on Vandy? I really want to go to duke but the prospects look extremely Bleak

Sameer, my daughter has almost similar Stats. Her GPA is a tad bit lower than yours. But she has a SAT 1 score of 2380. We consulted a very prominent college counsellor who suggested Vanderbilt. I looked at the possibility of applying Duke ED1 and Vanderbilt ED2 but you are giving up a great chance of getting into Vandy. Think about it, when you apply ED2 to Vanderbilt you will be fighting with Ivy ED rejects. I strongly recommend Vandy over Duke.
