-New SAT Score: 1970 (planning on a retake for hopefully a 2000)
-GPA: 4.14
-Caucasian Female
- IB Diploma Candidate
-AP Scores (2014): 5 on APUSH, 4 on APLAC - Extra circulars: Vice President of Gay Straight Alliance, Model UN Team Leader, Co Founder of Model Congress Club, Co Founder of political club on campus, Master of Ceremonies at Church, National Honors Society, National French Honors Society, various musical endeavors, and I write a lot.
-Awards: Placed 6th nationally for two consecutive years and 11th nationally on a French exam, book award, MUN awards, received an academic award for APLAC my sophomore year
-I have also completed 2 internships during my junior year and have them both accredited on my transcript. In April, I was appointed as a U.S. Senate page for the coming summer session. In regards to my GPA and SAT scores, I had a rough time fighting depression/anxiety and was hospitalized for a week following a bad reaction to medication. At the start of my junior year, I was enrolled in all IB classes (with the exception of math, but I chose the highest possible course), but was subsequently forced to drop IB Chem in accordance with the treatment plan that was set up for me. I plan to major in English and Poly Sci, so in the long term, I felt this decision would not harm me. My counselor plans on explaining everything that happened in her recommendation, but I’m not entirely sure if it will factor in to my admissions decision at all.
I am planning on applying ED I to Vassar. Given my profile, am I a strong contender?
