Chance me for Wellesley!

Hi all,

I am an asian female who currently attends a rigourous HS in Connecticut (I currently share this account w/ my cousin who lives in MA, just to let those who see some inconsistencies in past threads know ;))

The following are my stats:

  • ACT score from single test date: 35
  • SAT: scores haven’t been released yet but I am expecting low to mid 1500’s
  • GPA: 3.7 UW (had extenuating circumstances junior year - parents’ business declared bankruptcy)
  • Will take subject tests in a few months

I have taken the following APs:

  • AP Biology
  • AP Euro
  • AP Spanish Lang
  • AP Lang
  • I will take four more my senior year.

My recs may be mediocre, or an 8/10 at best.

Extracurriculars:
-President of a human right club at my HS for the last two years
-Have published in NCBI
-Volunteer at local mayor’s office
-Writer for online magazine and head editor of school newspaper
-Treasurer of a club dedicated to donating money made from artwork to organizations based in other countries

Mainly, I am worried about my junior year grades as I have 3 B’s. There is a slight downward trend in my grades, from 1 B freshmen year, 1 C in sophomore year, to 3 B’s in junior year. The rest of my grades in each year were all A’s. However, my classes have also increased in rigor, as I took four APs junior year. In addition, my parent declared bankruptcy this year as well so I am looking for a college that covers me well financially. I know that Wellesley is highly competitive, and admissions are very selective. I would like to know how I would compare in terms of the applicant pool. Thanks!

What exactly is a “human activists’ club”?

sorry meant to say human rights club
