Thanks

UC Fully weighted should be around a 4.17-4.3

Post UC (capped) weighted please.

I’ll chance you for the UC’s and Stanford, since I’m from California
Stanford: low reach (need a higher GPA)
UCB/UCLA: high match
UCSD: match
UCI/UCD/UCSB: safety
-chance me back on my last thread
-thanks

@Gumbymom‌ i believe 3.96-4

Your EC’s, Awards, and AP scores are great. The only thing that caught my eye was your GPA, which can potentially make or break your application. I believe you’re a strong candidate! Good luck!

Stanford: Reach (for everyone)
UCLA/UCB: High Match
UCSD: Match
UCI/UCD/UCSB: Low Match
You are a competitive applicant. Good Luck.

@Gumbymom‌ could i pm you my uc essays?

You’re a strong candidate, the only weakness seems to be the GPA which I think is partially made up for your schedule rigor. You’re a similar applicant to myself, and I think a lot of the schools can go either way. A good thing going for you is that you’re from an underrepresented area. That being said, I think you’re casting a very very very wide net and I think # 19-29 on your list are reaches as they are for everyone. While there’s a better chance of acceptance by applying to 30 schools, it may make sense to cut the list a bit… Just a thought, otherwise good luck!

Chance me back!
<a href=“Brown and others Chance Me - Chance Me / Match Me! - College Confidential Forums”>http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1705418-brown-and-others-chance-me-p1.html</a></p>

with your GPA, the ivies on your list are a stretch. U Chicago, is interesting, cause you are legacy but it is EXTREMELY difficult to get into, for anyone. our schools valedictorian of last year’s class was a legacy at Harvard and she still got waitlisted. she eventually got accepted, reaching an agreement with the admissions office that she would take a gap year, join the peace corps, and enter in the fall of 2015. if you do get waitlisted, that is potentially something you could look into. with the exception of the ivies, Vanderbilt, UCLA and UCB, everything seems to be within your range, for the most part.

actually, the UC’s don’t consider freshman year grades, so that will definitely work to your advantage

1-9, I’d say safety. 10 and 11 high match. 19-29 All reaches, except maybe northwestern, emory, and vanderbilt but even then it’d be a low reach/high match. UCB and UCLA high match. The other UCs are safeties. Your ECs are good, but a bit all over the place. Your gpa is weak, but your AP exam scores speak for themselves. If your class rank is still top 5% your gpa wont even matter. Overall strong candidate.

Any capped UC GPA below 4.0 is crap. UCs care a lot more about GPA than about test scores, so your 34 ACT will not save you.

UCB/UCLA - reach
UCSD - low reach
UCD/UCI - high match
UCSB - match (less selective than UCD/UCI and lenient towards students with high test scores)
10, 11, 19 - 29 are high reaches because of your crap GPA.

I have a 3.66 unweighted, a 4.29 weighted, a 4.00 capped UC GPA and a 2300 SAT score. I was rejected by UCB, UCLA, UCSD, and CPSLO. I was waitlisted by UCD and UCI. I was rejected/waitlisted by these schools because my GPA was crap.

I would say that you have a good chance at most of the schools you have listed. Your activities seem to be very impressive; the only thing I see holding you back is your GPA. but, if your essays are good and you have great interviews, I think you can definitely get in to all of the colleges you have listed. Best of luck to you! :)

Depends on major and other facets, but here’s what I think:

 1. Mizzou (In State) - Accepted
 2. UIUC - Accepted
 3. UW Madison - Accepted
 4. U Minn- Twin Cities - Accepted

tbh, the ivies (aside from maybe cornell) and stanford are out of reach. So is UCB and possibly UCLA in my opinion. expect a rejection at uchicago as well. In fact, I may have been a bit generous in my predictions. I hope you didn’t blow off the essays for your safeties.
