    Other relevant info:
Accepted to Yale Young Global Scholars program, not sure if this will help me at all with yale, but the acceptance rate is quite low for it so maybe it is an indicator. At the least, attending this program will help give me an idea of whether or not I would enjoy going to Yale.

Thanks for any feedback. I realize a lot of this will all come down to my essays in the end, though.

Your resume paints an attractive picture. Nevertheless, chancing one for Yale, Princeton & Dartmouth is a fool’s game.

You need to apply to at least 12 colleges & universities with at least 3 safety schools.

I am. These are just my top 3. I’m going to be applying to the UCs, USC, NYU, BU, Claremont colleges, etc.

Do you think my GPA is a little on the low side though? I wish I could go back and fix my freshman year lol

@stomb you have great ECs but your GPA is really weighing down. The range for these schools are usually 3.8 and up, but you have a great ACT score.

@collegeready33 If I apply early my UW should be ~3.88 and my weighted should be ~4.33. After first semester senior year that will be boosted up to 3.9 UW and 4.43 weighted hopefully. Is that competitive?

Yes it definitely would be.

@collegeready33 well then my GPA isn’t weighing me down too much is it? And as I mentioned in my original post, I think I have a pretty valid reason for my poor performance freshman year that I could mention. Also, I hope I am not annoying you with all these questions or anything. I’m just trying to determine whether or not using my EA on a top school like Yale would make sense for me. I really appreciate the feedback.

bump

If you bring it up to a high 3.8/3.9 that is in the target range.

^^Oops sorry meant to post that on another thread. Sorry!
