Okay. So I've decided to apply to Princeton this year. Hurray!
I have yet to write the supplemental essays, but my Common App essay is, in both my opinion and that of others, unique and well written.

ACT: 34 (9 essay)
SAT: 2200/1400 (10 essay) <-- I took the SAT again, and now I'm waiting for results. I hope the score can go up to a 2300/1500
SATiis: Taking in November, but just to make a guess:
MathII 800
Lit 740
(they only require two, right?)

I'm pretty sure my scores put me in range for Princeton. I have plenty of leadership roles (NHS president, newspaper editor, tennis & XC team varsity captains). And now comes the part I'm worried about:
I've been reading through the threads on here, and lots of people have hundreds upon hundreds of service hours. What if I don't? I volunteered at a hospital over the summer (once a week, for four hours) and I routinely volunteer with my church. There's the occassional random event I go to and volunteer for. I haven't done anything SPECTACULAR, though.

Thoughts?

By the way, I normally laugh at Chance Me threads. I just felt like I should post this and ask what you guys think about my presence as an applicant.

^Oh! Haha… oops.
My school doesn’t rank, but I’m Salutatorian.
I’ve received all As in all classes and my GPA is 4.5417 weighted on a 4.0 scale. I’ve taken the hardest course load possible for a student at my school, if you don’t count additional online courses, which I opted not to take.

I received a 4 on my English Lang AP test, and this year I’ll be taking the Calculus AP test, the English Lit AP test, and the Government AP test. My school offers Chem II Dual Credit and History Dual Credit, which I’ve taken. I’ve taken all AP courses I can, minus Physics AP online (only option for students wanting to continue in Physics) and Spanish IV or V AP (which is only available online at my school… no student in my class has taken either due to differences between the Spanish III course we took and the online courses). I was required to take Honors Physics my Junior year, which barred me from taking Chemistry II until this year. To sum things up, my school’s system stinks because it’s a small private school, with a limited amount of teachers.

I think your grades and scores are solid enough. If you’ve done SOME service work, then that’s better than none. While having service hours are a positive, as long as you have a well-rounded life otherwise, it shouldn’t be too bad. If possible, maybe write your Princeton supplement essay (the one about the last 2 summers) about your volunteer work? That would be awesome, I think.
