Chance me? GMU to VCU

Hey all! I’m currently hoping to transfer to VCU. I am currently at GMU and just finished up my sophomore year. Here are some stats:

Major: Social Work (the main reason I’m transferring is becuase VCU’s social work program is remarkable, and I included this in my personal statement)

Current GPA: 3.86

Cumulative GPA: 3.64

Grades: All As and Bs, except for one C from fall semester but it has to do with my past major (I changed my major fall semester); this past semester I earned all As, made Dean’s List, and took classes related to my new major

Resume/Extracurricular: I had to condense this a lot on the application because of the word limit, but I’ve had two jobs (camp counselor and cashier), am a member of two clubs at GMU, and will be volunteering with Hospice this summer.

Extra: I submitted my application the same day that my mom and I visited the school and met with one of the advisors. I got along well with her and we had a very thorough meeting. A few days after the meeting, I sent her a thank-you email. I also, at her suggestion, sent an email to the program director, explaining that I met with her and am hoping to be back in the fall. This was her suggestion and he responded to my email, so maaaaybe it increased my chances a little bit?

All responses are appreciated! My nerves are a bit crazy right now so it’d be nice if I could get something to calm down, whether you think yes or no. I know my GPA is above what they look for, but I’m worried about that one C, and I’m also worried about how much they consider the “resume” part of the application. I don’t have a lot of major-related experience, and I’m scared this puts me at a huge disadvantage. However, sending out those emails may or may not have helped? Sorry for the length, I’m not sure what to include and what they look at. I tried to be as condensed as possible.
