Chance me (going to miss priority deadline)

Hey guys, I mistakenly waited until my November scores came to submit my SAT scores to penn state so I'm most likely going to miss the priority deadline :( this is going to lower my chances and I'm nervous about getting in.

SAT: 2050/2400 1420/1600- 750M 670CR 630W
GPA: 3.55 weighted
Taking 3 honors and 2 AP classes this year, took 5 Honors classes in total prior to this year and no AP
AP Gov and AP psych
H math classes Alg 1 through trig/precalc 9-12th grade
H English 10th-12th grade
H Chem
The rest were college prep classes

My GPA has had a stead upward trend: ~81GPA freshman year ~89 GPA soph year ~95 Junior year and ~95 this year so far.

I'm the class treasurer for my class, played lacrosse 10-12th grade, participated in project manhood club and students against destructive decisions club.

I applied DUS and signed up for the summer session. I would be more confident about getting in but the lack of rigor in my schedule and the fact that I'm going to miss the priority deadline because my SAT scores will not be in worries me.

@drewpinkerton you’re safe as long you send you score before 30th even though it will arrive in 1-2 weeks they will consider the day it was sent

@ind1900‌ are you sure? This is directly from penn state’s website:

“However, the application process is not considered complete until Penn State has received all required documents and materials, such as your school transcripts and standardized test scores (if required). Keep in mind the priority filing deadlines as all required materials must be received by that time”

yes but many people told that as long as you score is sent before 30th there wont be a problem. If you’re still not sure i would suggest that you call the admission office to confirm to be sure and as for me my priority deadline is feb1 since i’m international

Bump still very nervous waiting to hear back because my schedule has been pretty easy up until this year

I did ask at one point what their position was on “upward trend” in applications and they said they don’t consider it. My D did far better junior year than sophomore and freshman. They said they consider only overall GPA for 9-11th and they don’t consider 12th grade grades at all, although they will look at rigor of 12th grade schedule. Most people haven’t heard back yet. So don’t worry about that. I think you have a good chance with your overall GPA and SAT scores, especially since you said you are willing to do summer. Good luck!

Ah man that’s a bummer they don’t consider upward trend because mine was huge. I’m pretty worried especially because up to and including junior year I only took 5 honors classes. This year I’m taking 3 honors 2 AP
