Hey everyone I know my GPA isn’t the best, but wanted to give this a shot.
GPA: 3.7
ACT: 33
Breakdown: R-34 W-33 M:34 S:32
Extracurriculars:
Founder and President of Project Ethos Public Speaking club at my school (www.projectethos.net)
Founding logistics director of volunteering organization with 950+ volunteers reached and 50+ venues managed
President of school data analytics club
Creative director of city's art council
Honestly my strongest EC is probably Project Ethos cause it’s new and upcoming and the volunteering thing but I know my GPA is low. Essays are looking alright too.
No one has good odds at Harvard, Yale or Princeton.
Throw in a “low GPA” and bad odds go down.
“Alright” essays probably don’t help.
I looked-- albeit quickly-- at the link you provided. You brought a branch of an existing program to your school-- presumably with the help of a faculty moderator. How is that “insane”? How does it trump a kid who went to Nationals in Speech and Debate and won? From the little I saw, it looks like they give you a pre-packaged guidebook to starting the activity. Noteworthy, yes, but not earth shattering.
I hate to sound negative, but I’m guessing that you may want to include a bunch of safer schools.
Your ECs are actually very good. But it doesn’t matter if you’re GPA is so low. ECs cannot pull up a GPA unless you’re an entrepreneur or you last name is Obama
