Chance me + Help with Safety and Match Schools

<p>Hello, I'm currently a rising junior and I've begun looking at colleges. I would LOVE to have some help finding reasonable match schools and a safety or two. I find it incredibly easy to say, "Oh. I'd love to go to <em>insert ivy league school here</em>" but almost impossible to find a match school that I could be happy at. </p>

<p>I should probably mention that I am Female Asian and I will be applying to all these schools as a intended Engineering Major. (However, I am also interested in some business majors)</p>

<p>My stats are:
Unweighted GPA: 4.0
Weighted GPA: 4.9 (With only 3 semesters. My Weighted GPA should be higher now)</p>

<p>Class Rank: Our school does not offer class rank; However, I would say that my Weighted GPA is among the highest in the school.</p>

<p>Tests:
I have not yet taken the SAT officially but without practicing at all for sophomore PSAT I got:
Total: 196 (Math:69 W:65 CR:62)</p>

<p>SAT II Test:
Chinese: 790</p>

<p>Extracurriculars:
2 Year Junior Varsity Rifle Team (Now Varsity, I will spend the next 2 years on Varsity.)
2 Years Model United Nations - Won many best delegation awards
1 year Marching Band
Chinese School Graduate
Play Piano</p>

<p>Volunteer:
2 years - Chinese School Teacher (93 hours total)
Magee Women’s Hospital Volunteer (60 hours total)
University of Pittsburgh Lab Volunteer (Current - Total will be around 70 hours)</p>

<p>I've also had a few jobs here and there which add up to a grand total of 242.5 hours for freshman and sophomore year. </p>

<p>Summer Camps:
Summer Engineering Experience for Girls @ CMU - 2008
Andrew's Leap @ CMU - 2009</p>

<p>The schools I hope to apply to include:
Reach:
U Penn (Hopefully, Jerome Fisher Program; if not, just engineering)
UC Berkley
Cornell
Stanford
Match (I think):
CMU (Engineering)</p>

<p>Could someone tell me my chances at each of the schools listed and also give me some safetys or matches? </p>

<p>Thanks a bunch!</p>

<p>Being female and Asian will hurt you a bit. :frowning:
It’s a bit early to chance someone, considering you only have three semesters worth of grades to analyze. However, I would say you’re doing great, and you definitely have a shot at all of those schools.
(I’m going to pretend you’re a rising senior):
UPenn: If you apply early decision, you have a very good shot. Unfortunately, without an SAT, it’s impossible to tell.
UC Berkeley: Good luck getting into UC Berkeley as an Engineering major.
Cornell: If you apply ED, you probably can get in (assuming 2250+ on the SAT)
Stanford: Good luck getting in.
CMU: Match, I agree.</p>

<p>Some other schools to look at:
Olin School of Engineering
Cooper Union (Engineering)
Rose-Hulman Institute of Engineering (I may have got this wrong)
Case Western Reserve
California Institute of Technology
Massachusetts Institute of Technology</p>

<p>Many other great engineering schools.</p>
