Chance me? (I'll chance you back...)

This is the first college application I will have submitted (Priority Deadline), so it makes me a little nervous. I thought I would post a chance thread here first, as I haven’t gotten my new scores back yet, but I am applying to University of Florida and University of Miami also.

Florida Resident
Female/White Non-Hispanic
3.8UW/5.8W
Top 15% of a 104 Graduating Class (Approximately ranked 13-14)
Intended Major: Computer Science BA or BS
Community Service Hours: 1600+

SAT:
1240/1800 – November 2009
Retaking November 2010

ACT:
29 – September 2010
Retaking October 2010

AP Scores:
World History (9th) – 4
Psychology (10th) – 4
Microeconomics (10th) – 2 (Not self-reporting, I took the class online and it was horrible… Ended up retaking as Dual Enrollment)
Literature (11th) – 4
Macroeconomics (11th) – 3
US Government (11th) – 4

Senior Schedule:
AP US History
AP English Language
AP Calculus AB
Executive internship 2 Honors

I go to a school where it is a two year (Junior and Senior) Dual Enrollment program where it is mandatory to take 3-4 Dual Enrollment Courses. I won’t say which College for the sake of Privacy? I currently have 52 College Credits, which do not include the 10 I am getting from Spring Semester courses. I am not getting my AA and not applying as a Transfer. I’ve taken 7 DE classes previous to my Senior year.

Fall Semester DE:
Human Anatomy and Physiology 1 + Lab
Introduction to Cultural Anthropology
Introduction to Oriented Object Programming with C++

Spring Semester DE:
Statistical Methods
Human Growth and Development
Advanced Oriented Object Programming with C++

ECs:
Girl Scouts
FFA (Various leadership positions)
National English Honor Society (President this year)
Model UN (Treasurer this year)
NHS
and more....

Your stats are pretty beast

You should be ok…I find that people feel better about their chances when they are compared with someone who got accepted the previous year, so here you go.

First off, you don’t have to apply as a Transfer to be considered “upperclassmen”. I came in with 73 credits from DE, applied as a Freshman and was a Freshman in the system until about the 4th week of classes lol.

Now for the stats: I’m male, multi-racial
3.96/4.62
5/453
1270/1910 SAT
31 ACT
Had only AP World and AP Human Geo.
Extracurriculars and like 150 hrs. community service.

I applied by Priority Deadline, but was seen as a regular because of a transcript issue. I was accepted nonetheless, accepted into Honors and got the Fresh. University Scholarship. So you should be good; never hurts to retake tests though. I honestly think my ACT and rank helped me out a bunch. :)

Side note, I also got into UM with a $20k a year scholarship and UF with their Fresh. scholarship…but FSU is beasttttttt !

I put you at 80% as it is… knock the SAT up to 1300+ and you’re a shoe-in with those grades and EC’s

Here’s an update of my ACT scores, though I’m still waiting for the November SAT scores…

September 2010 ACT
Composite - 29

English - 27
Math - 27
Reading - 36
Science - 25
Essay - 8

October 2010 ACT
Composite - 30

English - 28
Math - 28
Reading - 32
Science - 31
Essay - 10

Likely the strongest keys to admission are GPA and class rank.

OP you are in.

Just as a reply:

I was accepted in FSU with an invitation to the Honors Program and the $9600 scholarship.

Thank you everyone!

Great job!
