<p>Be sure to include safeties you’d want to attend. Hofstra is a safety but expensive. Binghamton is a safety and good buy but then again it is Binghamton-would you want to attend? If I were a student I wouldn’t but people look for different things. I think the better public universities like UVA, UNC are excellent choices and are matches for you. Some of this depends upon things you have not discussed. Have you submitted your research for a presentation or for any contests, for instance. Those things would help a a lot. Also important-how far you went in various competitions and how well aligned your curriculum is with your ECs. for example, do you have high scores in high level science courses-are you promoting yourself as a STEM candidate? You could add a few schools that are high matches to ensure coverage unless you are ok about your safeties. Hopkins, Northwestern, etc. How about U Wisc-Madison?</p>
<p>I think people on here are being a little too harsh… the SAT isn’t the only thing on his (her?) app. If you write essays that bring tears (or other strong emotions), then I would say you have somewhat of a chance for the top school</p>
