Eagle,
You could have stopped typing after your first line of test scores and GPA. IU Kelley admissions are based only on test scores and GPA and your sons scores are above the cut-off for both. Seriously, that’s it. Apply to Indiana University by the early admission date to try and get merit aid and then it’s congrats on admission to IU Kelley! With those test scores and grades admission to Kelley is only a formality after you are admitted to IU.

Thank U QJ.
Yeah, 100% chance and nothing besides test scores and GPA even matter. If he’s a senior now, make sure he applies by November 1 to get maximum scholarship consideration and automatic direct admission to Kelley. Also, he’s basically guaranteed to get at least $11k per year in merit aid. More merit aid is possible, but I would say significantly more is probably unlikely.
Yeah, unless he writes something terrible in his essays he should be good! As long as IU accepts him, he will qualify for direct admission. From what I hear though, I don’t think the Office of Admissions looks too heavily on whether the student applied to Kelley. If they did, there would be greater risk of rejection, but no stress!
Poets & Quants did point out that Kelley has a 37% acceptance rate for undergrad, so that may be the reason. https://poetsandquantsforundergrads.com/2017/12/05/acceptance-rates-top-82-b-schools/
