Chance me! Lehigh, Bucknell, Cornell, Hopkins

Okay so I REALLY want to know my chance at Lehigh, but I also am looking at (in descending order) Bucknell, Cornell, Hopkins, and for a safety - I think - Lafeyette. Also, I'm a junior at a public school.

2100 SAT (first time taking it)
740 Math, 660 CR, 700 Writting

91 GPA - unweighted
(about 3.6)
98.5 weighted

By the time I graduate I will have taken 10 AP classes out of the 11 my school offers.

EC / CC:
- Peer Leader (very involved - I mediate issues, mentor new members, and help new freshmen)
- Anti-Bullying Committee (sub group of peer leaders)
- Key Club (officer position end of this year through next year)
- CCD teacher
- Job at a gym watching kids (28 hrs / week)
- Director of Communication and PR for a local nonprofit benefiting pancreatic cancer research (I'm a cofounder and board of trustee member)
- Lighting technition for all school plays and musicals

I have great relationships with my teachers, 4 or 5 of which I am requesting a letter of recommendation from.

I have expressed interest in Lehigh for a long time now: visiting, emailing, touring, etc.

Thanks SO much for reviewing this, I am overly concerned about my chances. In addition, if any of you have recommendations for colleges I might also like, I am open to hearing them.

Lehigh2017,

You are in the ball park for all of these schools, with your chances being greatest probably at Lehigh and Bucknell. One thing that could help is if you got a bunch of 5"s on AP exams. Grades are not that great, but perhaps all of the work you do accounts for it (28 hours is a huge amount for a high school student). Since you really like Lehigh, have you considered switching your application from Rd to ED 2? As for other suggestions, you appear to like LACs with a scientific bent and might also consider URichmond, Davidson, St. Olaf and Macalester. Other ideas in the NE include RIT, RPI and University of Rochester.

colgate and holy cross also very good schools and higher ranked.

Muckdogs07, I do plan on applying ED to Lehigh. Thanks to you and par72 for the suggestions! You seem to hit the nail on the head with liberal arts with a scientific lean!

Holy Cross has new $70 million science building and offers science internships.

How about my chances at a school like Princeton? Would it be a waste to send in an application?
