Thank You. I know my gpa and sat subject tests aren’t too hot, but I’d like to know if I have a chance for either Emory or Emory Oxford. Also, I have been considering Cornell ED for the Nutrition Major (College of Human Eco) because it’s very fit oriented, and my EC’s actually go really well with the nutrition major. Emory has a nutrition minor however, so maybe I can guide it that way? Also,

Edit: Also applying to Notre Dame and Rice

A 3.5 and top 30 % will make ND, Rice and Cornell more of a reach for you than for others.

What about Emory/Oxford?

@Bolsted101

Emory Oxford likes students who are engaged in their communities because that’s what they want of students once they’ve arrived on campus. Engagement can mean many different things, including academic engagement (research with professors, serving as TAs, teaching freshman seminars), athletic and extracurricular (especially active leadership positions).

Emory Oxford has a heavy emphasis (academically speaking) on science classes with a heavy research component and humanities classes with a heavy emphasis on research, writing and classroom participation.

Recent admissions statistics for Emory Oxford can be found here:

@Bolsted101 From Emory admissions website:
“SAT and/or ACT scores are important but are not the deciding factors. Strong grades in rigorous courses may cause the committee to overlook below average standardized test scores, but high board scores will never make up for an applicant’s weak course selection or grades.”

So for you this means “cross your fingers”
