UVAorBust, you may be one of the few to get a “good score” at your high school, or place of residence, but certainly not in the entire applicant pool. Unless you live in Kansas or North Dakota (any low-representation state for that matter), it doesn’t matter.

I know justanothertry… that isn’t what I was trying to say but whatever. Facebook, I’m writing my essay this weekend. I will definitly send it to you to read because it seems you know a good essay from another run of the mill bad one. If your willing to read it I’d be happy to send it to you. You can help me make it more unique.

I will be absolutely honored to, bro.
Just PM me.
I am almost done with mine, we can trade.

Actually a lot of the people on this site are REALISTIC students that have already gone through the admissions process themselves. But in this sub-forum, most of the kids are high schoolers who have absolutely no idea how the process works and overinflate your sense of self worth so that you feel good about yourself and chance them back. It’s pointless.

Wow you have a 10% chance at Huntsman? Which accepts less than 10% of the applicants? Or at Princeton, which also accepts less than 10% of the applicants? Sound and flawless logic…
UVA OOS is extremely competitive. Sure, his scores/GPA are on par with the AVERAGE (KEY WORD, AVERAGE) admitted student, but his ECs are seriously lacking comparatively speaking. I know kids with higher scores, way more involvement, varsity sports and disadvantaged backgrounds that got waitlisted or out-right rejected from UVA. It’s not as easy as some of the ■■■■■■■ on this forum think.
This is what everyone’s been saying. Facebook, albatross, and billabong have all said his grades are fine for the majority of the schools (minus the Ivys), but again, when they move on to his ECs they’ll find they’re lacking.
Orrrrrr they’re realistic…

^good post Sharkfin.

2 things. Do you have a class rank? and do you feel like your course load is very rigorous compared to what your school has to offer?

Also I’m curious to why your not applying to UVA ED if it’s been you’re dream school forever.

Uva dosen’t even have ED or EA? I decided I’m not even going to bother applying to Upenn ED because I want to go to Gtown or UVA.

wow im surprised UVA doesn’t have ED. and i guess no class rank?
