Chance me? NMH, Choate, Masters, Taft...

I am a girl, 8th grade, applying to 9th, from a very small public school, tiny town in a rural area.

High honor roll most semesters - my grades are in the mid-90s.
Taking Algebra 1 this year, not doing so well (high 80s. Nobody in the class is doing well!)
SSATs - 84% (took it once, no prep class. Very high verbal, low-ish math.)
I'm serious about ballet, soccer, and music - pretty good at all of them but I'm not spectacular/recruited/a prodigy at anything. I'm sort of an all-around pretty good student. I don't think my essays are perfect either - I did my best!

I picked the schools I'm applying to because they have good dance programs and also have skiing (recreational). I didn't realize until I started browsing this forum that I picked really hard ones! (Also we need a lot of FA.)
My choices are:
SPS
Choate
NMH
Taft
The Masters School - no skiing but great dance
Loomis Chaffee
Concord Academy.
Have I aimed too high?

Nobody responded - is that because you are being polite and my chances are bad?

Just wait to see, only 2 months left. Good luck to all!

Not sure about the other schools, but you have a reasonable chance at Concord. Your SSAT is right at the average, and your performing arts and sports are a good match. While they do admit students who are exceptional in some area, they also admit well-balanced students who are a good fit with the school culture. It will pretty much come down to how the admissions committee views your recommendations, interview, and personal statement.

thanks, photodad - I know nobody can really tell anyone what their chances are…I’m just nervous!
