Brutally honest… GPA is the deal killer. The SAT, even with a perfect 1600, will be tough to counter a < 3.5 uw GPA for Stern (esp. you are Asian Male - not an URM). NYU Stern admit rate is about 12% and it attracts a lot of Asian applicants. Are there other backup schools for you? Not sure it will be easier to get in, the highly ranked undergrad biz program in Villanova or Lehigh “could” overlook the low GPA when you have really high SAT (still it is a tough call). JMHO.
Thanks, always appreciate a response.
I am looking at CMU tepper, I have legacy there.
I am also looking at USC, UCLA, Berkeley as well as Fordham.
UCLA and Berkeley will be as tough if not tougher. These highly competitive UC schools put more emphasis on the numbers than anything else. If you have lower GPA chances are very slim at UCs. They dont care what kind of ECs you have or what a great leader you are. You have to have high GPA AND test scores. Period. Just too many applicants and too understaffed, they dont have time on the holistic assessment unlike they claim.
