Also Full IB Canidate.
Also attended chinese school for 10 years, fluent in mandarin & taiwanese

pick mine of all the other threads please, im important-er

the fluency in mandarin/taiwanese is pretty good, lots of volunteer hours, good scores…but nothing that particularily stands out. This could be alot of high school students. No real passion shows through these stats.

^ I’m guessing this person is a native/Asian, so the fluency is pretty much meaningless on an app

first 3 will be easy to get in
later ones… I don’t know

Funny, I don’t see UCB on your list…You’ll make UCLA, Chicago, and Cal. You won’t make HYPSMC. Penn might accept you, though you are somewhat bland as an applicant.

hey your stats and mine are actually v. similar, xc, 3.86, 4.65, full IB
your psat is higher, i got a 219 =[ just missed merit cutoff
im a md resident, and i got in Berkeley engineering, are you applying to engineering?
i am female though so that mightve helped, not sure how much, and my sat math was 790, math 2 was 770

my sat physics was horrible, 650 but they didnt hold it against me… maybe they looked at my other 2 sat 2’s -ushist and math2

good luck!

Your Math SAT II score will hold you back. Try to get a 800 for Berkeley, they usually receive enough applicants who have that so they can be picky and hold it against you.

not to contradict PENGUINCARL but i just want to point out that Berkeley is apparently considering changing its SAT/SAT II policy… or at least there’s talk about it

i would just try to find out about that/stay on top of updates with regard to the SAT II policy at the UCs so you can make the best decisions about what to do with regard to taking/retaking

if they do count them, you should retake it. i took it 10th grade and got a 710, retook dec. of 12th and got 770
