Excellent, I think you are a near guarantee for OSU and very likely to get into Michigan as well. Your ECs are great and make up for a lower ACT score, GPA is good as well so I wouldn’t worry at all if I were you.
Where is your home state and what is your intended major?
UMich is not very likely even for in state unless for certain programs or recruited.
Accept OSU Reject UofM
The youtube channel will be a game changer depending on the program you’re applying to. OSU you’ll be good either way unless you’re trying to go STEM then the ACT might be to low. U of Mich is a very hard school to get into, but your EC will make you stand out. Make sure talk about it extensively in essays. It will come down to which programs you’re applying to, if you want to go the STEM route just make sure you have a back up too. University of Cincinnati would be a good safety.
I’m from Ohio and I plan to go into business marketing. My main essay on the common app was about my YouTube channel and how I’ve had the chance to work with different brands to market and promote their products.
I figured I would add in a few things that I forgot. I’m taking AP language next semester and i am also going to have 2 dual enrollment classes finished this year. Some more extra curriculars include choreographing for my school’s Musical and being in it, tutoring, majority whip in the house of reps at buckeye girls state, and being the reporter for national honors soviety at my school. I had 4 recommendation letters for UMich.
UMich is a pretty high reach for you with below average GPA and 2 points below 25th percentile ACT score from OOS.
