Hey! I’ve finally gotten around to this in the midst of my essays haha, hopefully this helps

Amherst - match
Cornell - match/low reach
University of Chicago - match
Northwestern - match
Colgate - safety
University of Rochester - ok deff safety
George Washington University - in
Rutgers - not sure but I would think it’s a safety

OMG Imagine if we both got into Chicago and Northwestern and Cornell haha. It would be kinda cool to meet in person since we both got rejected from Columbia and are trying to do a million applications before New Year…

@Icefire: thanks for the chance~ I’m glad everyone seems to think Amherst is actually a match… lol I got in to Rutgers Honors program already XD- which one is your top choice out of the three?
Ahhh I’m working on like three essays at once now. (Trying to figure out how much I can recycle for the “why” essays… UGH.) Got Rochester and a couple others done already, working on Cornell, NW, and Chicago, since their the ones with deadlines looming.

Anyway, I hope someone can enlighten me on why I’m a match for Amherst XD. I asked this a few posts back and still no answer? I guess no one reads the later posts in a chance thread.

Amherst – not sure, would guess 8/9
Cornell – 7
University of Chicago – 6/7
Northwestern – 6
Colgate – not sure
University of Rochester – not sure, would guess 3-5
George Washington University – 5
Rutgers – 4

@Wittywonka: lol, I misunderstood the scoring system and thought you meant I had a “sure” chance of getting into Amherst. Until I read the legend and was like, oh, it’s the reverse. Thanks for the honesty though, I do appreciate an objective perspective. Better not get my hopes up then, and get cracking on editing those essays.

Amherst - reach
Cornell - low - mid reach
University of Chicago - low reach
Northwestern - reach
Colgate - high match
University of Rochester - in
George Washington University - match
Rutgers - :)

Goodluck to you too!! We could all use some :P

I’m actually really surprised you didn’t get into Columbia. Maybe it was because you put less emphasis on literary arts than they prefer? either way, you’re a strong candidate for other schools. I’m not familiar with a few of them, but I’d say:

Cornell: low reach
University of Chicago: low reach/match
Northwestern: match
Colgate: don’t know
University of Rochester: don’t know, but probably match
George Washington University: match
Rutgers: match

@Beowulf: Thanks! @ibphs01: I’m just not surprised Columbia rejected me at all, considering their such a high caliber school. Of course, I guess I did get my hopes up for a bit during the application process, (I think that’s natural for anyone though…) but I was prepared for the rejection. Thanks for the chances though!
