I think I should get decent Grades this year, mostly As

My SAT scores are projected to be: ~2100, Math: 700, Reading: 700 Writing: 700

Essays and letters of rec should be really good.

Extracurriculars: 3 years Varsity swimming, 12 hrs a week, this takes up a lot of my time, on top of schoolwork and piano, I have almost no freetime.
Piano: 8 years total, practices about 3 hrs a week.
Violin: 1 hr a week
Volunteering: I am in Key Club and have about 200 hrs of volunteering total.

So... I know it will probably be a reach, but I really want to get in to one of thes schools: Northwestern, U Chicago, and Tufts (I have legacy there.) Do I have any chance? I know I am not that unique... y'know, asian, piano, orchestra, but at least I am on a varsity sport thats really demanding? maybe?

I'm not sure how your Tufts legacy will help you, but I can say that you will have somewhat of a tough time getting in to these schools. Keep in mind that I am a student just like you, though. Take this with a grain of salt. Your GPA is on the lower end for all 3 of them, and your SAT, if you got a 2100, would be slightly below or on par with the average score at these schools. Unfortunately, many people play varsity sports and have high GPAs/SAT scores, so that won't set you apart from them. I have heard that Chicago looks at the essay and the overall applicant, moreso than other colleges, so you may have a chance there. I wouldn't say you don't have a chance, but these schools are high reaches, simply because you don't have anything unique. The one thing not all kids have is 200 hrs of volunteer work. So that may be a plus. Good luck!

Those 3 schools are reaches. Make sure you pick some match and safety schools you like, just in case. Good luck!

thanks for the responses, i know these schools are reaches for me... is there anyway I can improve?
one thing that might help me out is that I swim two hours a day year round? I don't know, how can I make myself more unique?

my safety will probably be the university of minnesota

Applying ED or EA to one of these three schools might help. Showing interest by visiting, too. Try to do an alumni interview -- shows interest. Retake the SATs and push them further into the 700s (you're on the cusp!). Try the ACT -- you could do better on those.

maybe I am asking for a chance a little early, I mean, I haven't even taken the PSAT yet, and I have a bunch more AP classes coming up...
but anyways...could anybody else chance me?
