EDIT: If you go to a highly competitive school and you have an above average GPA, then a 3.7 might not hurt you too badly. And I did not see your URM status, which gives you a boost.

And 3+ AP’s is not that much. At my private school, the top 25 or 30% take that many APs, myself included.

Lol, my best friend went to Cypress Bay our freshman year, but she transferred up to St. Thomas.
As far as chances, I’d say you’re good for all of your matches and safeties, and probably for Notre Dame as well.
UPenn, eh, you’ll probably get in.
For Stanford, get your GPA up during the first semester. Not much you can do for MIT EA, besides studying a lot for the SAT IIs. (Although for Spanish you should be good, lol.)
All in all, I’d say you have a fair shot.

Thanks guys and as far as top ao scores… Yes we are recognized… Actually edit that I think it’s the highest minority scores I’ll post a link to the article
But ya it was a big deal among ap teachers they were all proud about it

Any more opinions… What about illiois… It’s number one in accounting

I don’t know much about most of the schools, but I’m pretty sure you would get accepted to UNC. (I live like 5 minutes away, everyone from my HS goes.) I think they look more at your weighted GPA, because around here that seems to be the main focus over UW, but from my school (and they don’t accept many local students for “diversity”) most who got accepted had about a 4.4-4.6ish weighted. Your SAT scores could make up for that though. I’m not sure if you’d get the financial aid you needed, I don’t know much about their program since most in-state students who attend don’t need it.
Basically if you don’t want to read all that, I think UNC is a reach, but its very likely.

To clarify: Cypress Bay High School is one of 15 schools in the nation recognized in the
recently released 6th Annual AP Report to the Nation for increasing access to AP courses
among traditionally undeserved students.~ Specifically, Cypress Bay is recognized as the
public school with the largest number of Hispanic students in the class of 2009 achieving
success (with a score of 3 or higher) on the following AP Exams: Calculus BC, United
States government and politics, macroeconomics, microeconomics, psychology, statistics
and United States history.

sebas9232: Cypress bay is a competitive school but the difference between you and the top 10% is not the number of dual enrollment or AP classes. The diference is that they are getting As in most of the classes and are really involved in 2 to 4 Ecs only. You are all over the place.
Are you actually in the cross country team? I know most of the runners in this team and don’t remember seen you in any race.

Ya Im on the team. I got hurt this year but still ran 90% of the meets. I just don’t hang out with them. Are you the Cooper city kids that they hang out with.

I questioned the validity of another poster’s statement claiming that Cypress Bay is an academic power house. The link you provided only says that it has a high AP passing rate for minorities.

The point I’m trying to get across is that unless this school is like Stuveysant or Thomas Jefferson HS, the OP’s rank is going to severely hurt his chances at schools like Penn, MIT and Stanford.

You’re GPA will Not cut it for MIT depending on your schools grading system. Also, if you are applying to MIT and stanford, then along with Math II, you should take either Physics or Chemistry or both SAT IIs.
