Thank you so much. I've really seen a lot of smart people on this website, and I would love to hear your thoughts.

very high stats nice ec’s northwestern, jhu, are matches Urbana is close to a safety, and your a match for all of the Ivies accept harvard, yale, Princeton, and Columbia as those are reaches for everybody, MIT is also a reach for the same reason. But with your stellar resume you have as good a chance as anybody

chance me back
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1589816-chance-me-cornell-duke-johns-hopkins-northeastern-yale-harvard-bu.html</a></p>

Also, are there any schools you feel area match for me?

UIUC: Match
NWU: High Match-Low Reach
JHU: High Match
MIT: Reach
Ivies: Most of them are Reach

Overall, you have very nice stats. I don’t think the fact that you go to a “low-performing high school” will affect you that much. You seem to have many strong extracurriculars, so hopefully you are able to present these well. As you said to me, all of the ivy’s are reaches for everybody, but I think you have a decent shot at getting into a couple of them. The same goes for MIT and UChicago. Northwestern is a high match, as is JHU. Good luck!

Thank you for your response

Chicago: high match/low reach; the biggest deciding factor will be your essays.
UIUC: match/safety
NWU: high match
JHU: high match/low reach
MIT: Reach
Ivies: Dartmouth/Cornell/Brown are low reach. HYP/Penn/Columbia are reach.

Chance back maybe? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1586531-will-chance-back-chances-mit-berkeley-upenn.html</a></p>

Low chances for ivies, nothing stands out as truly extraordinary, which is usually rather helpful in admissions. The quantity of your E/C’s may actually hurt you, as the admissions will know that you had half-hearted dedication to each.

What should I do then? Should I not mention some Ecs or should I still put them all and hope that admissions sees how far I’ve achieved in each and thus understand that I didn’t half ass a thing?

Cellobuddy,

Your stats are definitely strong enough to get you accepted to HYP/MIT. I don’t think any of these schools are a reach for you, but whether you get selected from the pool is impossible to predict. The biggest hurdle you will face is that there may be too many candidates similar to you, thus their quest for maximum diversity in the student body will reduce your chances.

Regarding the ECs, you can only list 10. I would recommend following this advice from Yale:

[My extracurricular activities do not fit in the space provided by the Common Application. Can I send a resume or activities list to further detail my extracurriculars? | Yale College Admissions](http://admissions.yale.edu/faq/my-extracurricular-activities-do-not-fit-space-provided-common-application-can-i-send-resume-or-)
