<p>Your UC GPA barely makes the cutoff. Your SAT is within range for UCR and UCSC, but your GPA will be a problem.
Average UC GPA for UCR was 3.77 and UCSC was 3.82. These schools will be a reach especially for a Biology Major.
If you have an explanation regarding your low GPA, that may help your chances</p>
<p>You should look at the Cal States such as CSUN, CSU Fresno, CSUMB, CSUSM, Sac State, CSUCI etc…</p>
<p>If you calculate your Eligiblity index: (CSU GPA x800) + (SAT Math + SAT CR). If you EI is around 3300 or higher, the Cal states will be a good match.</p>

<p>I think your chances with Poly Sci as your major will help but for Match schools you still want to be close to the average GPA and test scores. Your SAT is competitive for UCR/UCM and UCSC but GPA is a problem. You need to look at some Cal states for possible Matches and Safeties. </p>
