Is engineering your intended major?
UMich CoE and UIUC engineering are both low reach from OOS while the latter would depend on your major. Have your checked their NPC? UIUC has no aid for OOS.
My intended major is Computer Science
you have a really good shot at really good schools. You should consider grade inflation/deflation when you choose colleges. I can’t send you the link but if you search ‘gradeinflation.com’ , you will find all the colleges in a list. GA tech has a grade deflation so I wouldn’t recommend it.
Your chances are decent. You have good test scores and ec’s. However, you have to distinguish yourself from the other applicants in your essays.
Mahindra which schools are they decent for? Because Carnegie and UIUC are gonna have pretty different chances of admission.
UIUC and Carnegie are both going to be relatively low (CMU will be much lower) because they are the most competitive major at both schools.
OSU you will likely get into tho
@MemeLord88 Well Ohio State is a safety. It would be decent for UMich, UIUC, and Ga Tech. CMU is definitely a reach. Your test scores and gpa are pretty good but you don’t have any major ec’s.
@Mahindra Thanks for clarifying!
For UIUC, there are multiple CS programs. However, they are all very competitive. They would be all reaches because of that.
For UMich, you may apply to either CoE or LSA as both have CS major. LSA would be less a reach than CoE but it is still a low reach (which is pretty much the case for OOS students with strong stat).
